AROUND 35,000 people enjoyed a vibrant celebration of Asian music, dance and culture at the weekend.
The Manchester Mega Mela took place in Platt Fields Park.

More than 100 entertainers and artists representing Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka performed on three stages.

The main stage saw headline performances from Jazzy B and B21, while the Chai Serai Marquee provided a feast of South Asian arts.

A funfair, fashion show, workshops, stalls and delicious food were also draws.

Organiser Sajjab Hussain said: "It has been a beautiful event this year. The weather was fantastic on Saturday.

"The entertainment was excellent and everybody seems very happy."
