Harbhajan Mann - Mera Pind, My Home

Mera Pind - My HomeSidhu (Navjot Sidhu) - a well to do, happy go lucky NRI who has chosen to settle in his native village, spreads the message of self-empowerment and entrepreneurship amongst the village youth. Led by Himmat (Harbhajan Mann), the youth set off a revolution of development in the village. Their lives are changed by Sidhu’s simple but extremely enterprising initiatives. Soon, the village transforms into a modern prosperous hamlet and becomes a model in its own right.

Coming close on the heels of the super success of his recent production Mitti Wajaan Maardi, starring noted Punjabi singer Harbhajan Mann, Manmohan Singh's latest movie 'Mera Pind-My Home' will cast Navjot Singh Sidhu in a major role for the first time ever.

The movie will be a joint production of AD Labs and Punj-Aab Movies with Harbhajan Mann in the lead role along with Navjot Singh Sidhu as a co-star. The film which would be primarily based upon the concerns and hardships being faced by villagers in Punjab will have some of the most experienced of Punjabi actors like Gugu Gill, Kimi Verma, Sarabjit Mangat, Deep Dhillon, Navneet Nishaan, Sheeba Bhakri, Rana Ranbir, Gurpreet Ghuggi and Darshan Aulakh in the reckoning. Lyrics by Babu Singh Maan, Music is by Babloo Mahendru, and Dialogue by Amrik Gill.

Mera Pind-My Home, as the name itself suggests, is essentially a film woven around the plot and backdrop of a Punjabi village with its typical characters and their own set of challenging and trying circumstances which would be conveyed cinematically, informed Manmohan Singh. However, contrary to the underlying NRI themes of our earlier production this time the film will aim to send out a clear cut message to Punjabis who are some how seen to be laid back and lethargic in their approach when it comes to working for their own land and people back here in Punjab.

Harbhajan Mann, the lead actor of Mera Pind-My Home said that after the success of Mitti Wajaan Maardi, Asaan Nu Mann Watnaan Da, Jee Aaayaan Nu, Yaaran Naal Baharaan and Dil Apna Punjabi, it has become a way with Manmohan ji to feel the pulse of Punjabi audiences and Mera Pind-My Home will hopefully live up to that critical parameter.
The film drives an important message targeted at Punjabi audiences; to realize the importance of being an entrepreneur in one’s own land rather than extraordinary entrepreneurship in the West. Punjabi's are touted to be fairly successful and hardworking that side of the globe, an impression which belies the visible reality back home. ‘Mera Pind’ is a complete family entertainer with a perfect blend of emotions, drama and comedy.

‘Mera Pind’ set for a world wide release on Sept 5, 2008, stars besides Navjot Sidhu and Harbajan Mann, the talented Kimi Verma. The film’s music, composed by Babloo Kumar with lyrics by Babu Singh Maan, releases on Aug 8, 2008.
